Inktober 2019 Day 22 Ghost

Inktober 2019 Day 22 Ghost

Inktober 2019 Day 22 Ghost

I am exploring new scary territory for me. Perspective and Anatomy. And they scare the crap out of me cause I am not great at it. Today’s prompt for day 22 for Ghost and I decided to challenge myself and try some human drawing.

Now I am more of a biological plant, monster, tentacle mixed with machines kind of illustrator. When it come to detail anyways. If i draw any people it’s rarely done at any other angle than the front or side. So I tried drawing a person walking through the entryway of a haunted house with a scary ghost behind them. And if the angle wasn’t challenging enough I decided to make the person a young woman. And there is one part of femal anatomy that makes me cringe, breasts. I’m what drawers call a uniboob drawer or bullet bra drawer. It’s hard for me to figure out the anatomy of a human but I wanted to improve on it. So I went to a Facebook group for some assistance. I usually never get a response but apparently the subject of drawing breasts correctly under clothes turned into a whole thread of guides and advice on how to do it.

I think I got it down pretty well. Still need to improve the rest of the anatomy but one step at a time. Next step I need to work on is hips. Cause there’s some extra joints in that woman’s hips there. lol

I am quite proud of this piece I gave myself a challenge and stuck with it. It’s not perfect but I had a lot of fun interacting with people and improving my skills bit by bit.

Here is your free coloring page of today’s sketch. Feel free to try and fix the anatomy. lol 2019 Inktober Day 22 Ghost Coloring Page

See you tomorrow for day 23, Ancient.

Inktober 2019 Day 15: Legend

Inktober 2019 Day 15: Legend

Inktober 2019 Day 15 Legend

Welcome to Sleepy Hollow ladies and gents. Hold onto your head cause you just might lose it. Because today we honor the Legend of Sleepy Hollow on this 15th day of Inktober.

This one was fun to draw and I took extra time today to try and get it as detailed as possible. Took my sweet time on the pencil sketch and even longer on the inking with the inkwell thingy majig. This is probably the most time I’ve ever spent staring at the position a horse’s foreleg goes when rising up from its back legs. I erased and redrew that left foreleg like ten times before I felt it was in an appropriate position. Never mind that the anatomy is probably way off still. But realism is not my forte and I think it’s the best horse I’ve ever done so far. The headless Horseman didn’t turn out so bad either. Adding coat tails and capes really saves you from figuring out leg placement at the top of a saddle. lol.

See you tomorrow for the start of the second half of Inktober day 16, Wild.
